LTA: Live Text Access

Introductie Live Text Access is een project mede gefinancierd door het ERASMUS+ programma van de EU. LiveTextAccess (LTA) is een strategische samenwerking tussen educatieve en non-educatieve partnerts dat erop gericht is om de behoefte aan geharmoniseerde training van live intralinguale ondertiteling te verbeteren.

 

Het project concept

LTA richt zich op inclusie en innovatie in hoger onderwijs, met een focus op drie Europese prioriteiten:

• ontwikkeling van curricula om de arbeidsmarkt en maatschappelijke wensen tegemoet te komen,
• ontwikkeling van vrij toegankelijke bronnen van training, en
• sociale inclusie.

Live ondertiteling maakt directe toegang tot audiovisuele inhoud mogelijk en in situaties waar ondersteuning voor communicatie noodzakelijk is. De vraag naar live ondertiteling is gestegen sinds de adoptie van het VN-verdrag Handicap (UNCRPD), de Europese toegankelijkheidswet (European Accessibility Act) en de Richtlijn Audiovisuele Mediadiensten (Audiovisual Media Service Directive). Ze zetten dienstverleners ertoe aan mensen met een visuele of auditieve beperking toegankelijkheid te verzekeren.

At present, subtitlers often lack specific training, and the profession has no clear or recognised status. LTA aims to design an effective and certified curriculum for real-time intralingual respeakers and velotypists. The training materials will be open source and suitable for in-house, vocational and higher-education training.

Real-time subtitlers trained by LTA will have suitable skills to provide high-quality subtitles in different contexts:

• Cultural events
• Parliamentary assemblies
• Broadcasts
• Workplace
• Education

 

The training will prepare for three different work settings:

• Face-to-Face
• Online
• By relay
